I’m feeling guilty for not posting any new drawings lately. I decided to go through my stack of sketch books and find something to post. I found these two observational drawings of people in town. I can’t remember when I drew them. I think they’re from 3 or 4 years ago. The drawings are from 2 different times at the laundromat.
I spotted this women at the Brooklyn Laundromat in Portland. I used to have to walk there and dry my clothes when the dryer in my apartment broke. It was a common occurrence. I don’t miss it.
A different day, this man was waiting for a bus, across the street from the laundromat.
December is around the corner and so are a ton of art shows. Catch me in the following:

It’s Fall! And that means it’s time for the 2nd Annual No Bones for Halftones Show. This Saturday, grab a plain t-shirt and come to St. Johns to get a free screen-printed design/illustration on your shirt.
Last year we had an amazing turn out and it was tons of fun. This year, there are 12 artists. That’s 12 different t-shirt designs. All for free! Did I forget to mention, there will also be free beer from Captured By Porches?! In addition to the free stuff, there will also be merchandise, tons of vinyl stickers, and lovely art to view, also don’t forget to make a donation. Art supplies aren’t cheap.
Yours truly will be one of the featured artists. From 6:00 – 6:30 pm you can get a screen print of this image I drew:
Come check it out and go to the website to find out more about the event: No Bones For Halftones Website and Facebook. See you there!
I don’t like going over a week without a post, but due to my crazy work hours last week and a wedding I attended over the weekend, I didn’t find much time to blog.
On the upside, I have something new to share.
I’m introducing something new to my blog. It’s called Friday Favorites. Every Friday, I plan to feature one of my favorite artists/designers/photographers/other creative folks. If I don’t blog about people, I’ll make a post about other art related things I like, such as art films or a new font I stumbled upon. Look forward to gaining some new knowledge and seeing some amazing visuals.
This Friday, I present French illustrator and designer Maxime Francout
Maxime’s illustrations are fun and playful and often incorporate hand drawn typography and simple geometric shapes. His work can be seen on skate decks and t-shirts (find him at Threadless).
i had to include this one simply for the mention of Portland (plus I like chai)
Interested in buying some art? You can purchase the work I’m currently hanging at The Goodfoot at their website. All the pieces are framed and the price listed includes the shipping cost.
