Animated Music Videos
May 11, 2008
In my youth, I used to watch MTV (back when they actually played music videos and not shows like A Shot At Love with Tila Tequila). My favorite videos were the ones that involved animation. They could play a video for a band I despised, but I’d sit through the whole video to watch the animation. I’m not a big Peter Gabriel fan, but I’d watch “Sledgehammer” so I could witness a steam train circle around his head and claymation bumper cars crash into his neck.
Here are some of my favorite animated music videos:
Zero 7 – Destiny
The Shins – Pink Bullets
Chad Vangaalen – Clinically Dead
A-Ha – Take On Me
And here’s a list of other animated music videos I thought I should mention:
- The White Stripes – Fell In Love With A Girl
- Blur – Coffee & TV
- Dire Straits – Money For Nothing
- The Decemberists – Los Angeles, I’m Yours
- Rilo Kiley – It’s A Hit
- The New Pornographers – Myriad Harbour
- Of Montreal – Wrath Pined To The Mist
- Radiohead – Paranoid Android
- Gorillaz – Clink Eastwood (Because of this music video I became interested in Gorillaz & I discovered Jamie Hewlett)
- Ween – Transdermal Celebration
Question: What are some of your favorite animated music videos?
